ECON 150C1 – An Economics Perspective (3 units)
Description:  Societal & Institutional Systems - The study of the interactions of individuals and societies from the viewpoint of economics. The Course examines a series of important social problems that lie on the intersections of economics and disciplines such as law, history, anthropology, political science, psychology, and so forth.

ECON 201A – Principles of Economics  (3 units)
Description:  Nature of economics, price theory for the product market, factor prices, international economics.

ECON 217 Resources and Environmental Economics  (3 units)
Description:  Relationship between man and use of natural resources and environmental systems, with emphasis on the economic implications of alternative environmental, energy and land-use policies.

ECON 276 – Statistical Inference in Management  (3 units)
Description:  This is a first course in business statistics, with an emphasis on techniques for data analysis and inference in management. Students are assumed to be familiar with basic descriptive statistics, probability theory, and probability distributions. Presentation of technical material is combined with hands-on analysis of data to aid managerial decision making. Meeting will be a mix of lecture and problem-solving. There are two objectives for the course. First, to develop a conceptual understanding of statistics and the role of data analysis in management. Second, to master the mechanics of applied statistics.

ECON 478 – Economics of the Natural Environment (3 units)
Description: Economics is used to study the allocation, management, and ownership of such natural resources as air, fisheries, forests, global resources, minerals, natural areas, oil & gas, water, and wildlife. The course is comprised of theoretical models and detailed applications - including the relationship between economic development and environment, the economics of climate change, and the economics of public land management.  Emphasis is placed on the causes and effects of alternative institutions governing the use of the natural environment with a focus on property rights, legal rules, regulations, and administrative agencies.
