Current Research

Professor Flores-Lagunes' research in econometrics deals with the problems that arise with instrumental variables estimators when the instruments used are weak or invalid. He also has an interest in spatial econometrics and limited dependent variable models. His research in labor economics centers on the problems associated with the estimation of returns to schooling and the evaluation of job training programs. The focus of his empirical macroeconomic research is the development of measures of efficiency for monetary policy.
